My Educational Journey
How would God use my education to share His most important message of His Love for humanity?

28 And . . . I. . . know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those He predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified;those he justified, he also glorified.
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A Tale of Two Cities (Spring 2014)
Description/ Justification for Studying Education Within the Cities
Adults and juveniles have seen a radical increase in aggressiveness and a dramatic decrease in endurance, judiciousness, judgment and creativity in inner-cities. . I have, however, seen students who are able to use computer cleverness to do very damaging and foolish actions. Currently there are no valid statistics about computers in the city. However, logic would lead someone to suspect that since computers are valuable pieces of equipment which could be sold for money (hocked) and may be damaged easily, computers in the city would not be prevalent. Computers must be secured to prevent stealing or damage. Also, computers need to be regularly maintained and updated, both with hardware and software; so that would take a staff member from the faculty to complete. Finally, teaching staff in the cities are under immense pressures to provide for the students with limited budgets and equipment. It would seem logical that computers would be viewed as a luxury and not a necessity.
So, starting to describe the problems of the cities will give a clue about instructional technology and capabilities in cities.

Choices Teenagers Face. (Summer 2014)
Teenagers have now many positive choices, but there are as many good options as deleterious: Choices, whether gangs, sexuality, drugs, music and pornography have long-term consequences for youth who are not prepared to make life-altering choices. This lesson is geared to helping students make better choices and realize the consequences of their choices on themselves, friends and family. The objective of this lesson is to help adolescents deal with the immense physiological, psychological, emotional, hormonal and social changes each teen faces and gives each student an opportunity to explore and practice choices in a relatively safe environment before the choice can have disastrous choices.

The Duke’s Challenge (Summer 2014)
This lesson’s objective or goal is to demonstrate the connection among buoyancy, density and temperature by using a historical fiction story of Galileo’s thermometer. You will then proceed to study a general category called “fluid dynamics” that uses “buoyancy”, “density” and “temperature” to discuss why things float or sink and what makes things float more easily. You will need to use your science skills and logic to study alone and together as a group what makes things in this world float over others. This is important in the environment we have today and may impact our future with pollution and global warming.

The Prophet of Non-Violence
Abstract
: Our world seems to be filled with violence and murder. Columbine, Virginia Tech and Colorado shootings have become synonymous with the common violence we see in the world now. Many students have strong emotions; but they don’t know how to appropriately express their feelings, so they turn to the media and video games. Yet, there were successful times when societies were overturned through the actions of brave men and women who used nonviolence to resolve the obvious injustices in society. Plato, Mohandas Gandhi, Rosa Parks, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Nelson Mandela and Hu Yaobang (in Tiananmen Square) are some people who publicly chose to change unjust societies through nonviolence. While many students may see nonviolence as weak, for thousands of years this tool has changed societies by the example of one person who strongly believes in the righteousness of a cause. This thesis uses the premise that teaching students to use civil disobedience or nonviolence to express anger will reduce aggression in the schools and society.

Future Goals:
I want to use all my education and experience to build a unit which would become a Christian college’s cross-curricular Biblical study which studies the themes, character’s biographies, parables, Beatitudes, eschatology, and personal testimony.
God is in charge, and His Love provides for all.
